John is a professional guitarist and dedicated music educator with over 10 years of teaching experience and 12 years of professional performance experience.

He holds a Master of Music in Classical Guitar Performance from the Manhattan School of Music, where he received advanced training as a classical guitarist and musician.

Throughout his teaching career, John has had the opportunity to work with students of all ages and experience levels. His teaching experience includes: Do Re Mi Music School, Red House Studio, The New Song Studio, Bergen County School of Music, as well as private instruction.

John believes that every student has an ability to learn music, no matter their level of experience. His approach combines strong musical fundamentals with a supportive, encouraging environment where students can develop their skills while enjoying the process of making music.

For students just starting out, John focuses on building a strong foundation in technique, musical notation reading, rhythm, and music theory while keeping lessons engaging and fun. For experienced students, lessons can be tailored to meet individual interests and goals—from learning favorite songs or pieces and developing technique, to fine tuning sight-reading skills, ear training ability and preparing for recitals, performances and auditions.

Although classical guitar is John’s specialty, he also teaches steel string acoustic guitar, electric guitar, ukulele and introductory piano.

Whether a student is picking up an instrument for the very first time or looking to take their playing to the next level, John’s goal is the same: to help each student become a confident, capable, and passionate musician.
